Parent Meeting Information

Thank you to all the students and parents that attended last night's informational meeting! We are excited to have students that have already registered for the D.C. trip! If you weren't able to attend last night's meeting, you can get a Parent Presentation from WorldStrides online. Once at the site, please select the "Washington, D.C." link to give you an overview! There are also 2 permission forms that need to be signed by both parent and student and returned to me. Students can see me for the form, or send me an email and I can send the forms to you electronically.

As discussed last night, there are many opportunities to reduce the cost of the trip including scholarships and The Gift of Education. Select either link for more information and please feel free to contact me or WorldStrides with any questions! These are great opportunities that I hope families take advantage of to make the trip a possibility for all families!

Additional registration packets can be found in the office. I'm looking forward to providing another safe, meaningful, and fun experience for the soon-to-be 8th graders at Lakeview!

2012 Washington, D.C. Trip

Registration for the 8th Grade Washington, D.C. trip has begun! I'm very much looking forward to my 7th trip with the 8th graders to Washington, D.C.! This incredible trip has proven to be a memorable one for many of our students over the last 40+ years that Lakeview has been traveling to D.C. The opportunity to travel, sightsee, extend beyond the classroom walls, and bond with friends has been an experience I'm elated to share with Lakeview students each year.

In social studies this week, your son or daughter will be receiving a registration packet as well as a very brief highlight reel of the trip. You will also be receiving something in the mail from WorldStrides, our travel company. We will be hosting an informational meeting for you and your child on Wednesday, March 14 at 6 p.m. in the old gym at Lakeview. Here we will go over what to expect on the trip, payment plans, scholarship information, and high school credit opportunities. There will also be time for questions and answers. Neal Steinken, our WorldStrides representative, will be there as well to answer any questions for you. We are very excited to be traveling with WorldStrides this year because of the many opportunities they have available to you and your students!

You do not need to wait for the parent meeting to register for the trip. Registration information can be found in the envelope brought home by your son or daughter, the information mailed home, as well as here. Our trip ID number is 76564. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. Registration is open until April 21, with a variety of payment options to best suit your family. As mentioned earlier, we will be going over scholarship and fundraising information, to provide each family the opportunity to send their child on the trip.
